First Class Ticket
Here's the interior of the aircraft from the 1970s. A small cabin for the 100 passengers was the sacrifice for traveling at twice the speed of sound. Headroom in the central aisle was barely six feet (1.8 m) and the seat pitch was 38-inch (970 mm), giving only 6 or 7 inches (180 mm) more legroom than in an international coach class cabin. The high ticket prices meant that the aircraft only needed to be half full to cover costs. By 1982 a round-trip ticket between New York and Paris cost $3,900. In 2000, it came to $8,148.
