Holes Filled With Potential
The landscape in front of this shell of a war tank is filled with looters holes and vacant Northern Alliance tunnel, but in it lies potential. In preserving it's past, Afghanistan may also be protecting it's future. "The greatest contribution of these artifacts is that they show a different aspect of the Afghan story," UNESCO's Cassar says. "They are a symbol of the hope that one day Afghanistan can be known for magnificent pieces of cultural history and art, rather than terrorism."
