The Cardinals have tasted unadulterated victory only once, in 1947, when they were led by players like Charlie Trippi, #62, above, part of a "dream backfield" assembled by Cardinals owner Charles W. Bidwell. The team beat the Philadelphia Eagles 28-21 in the NFL Championship game (the first Super Bowl was still 20 years away.)
