A light-emitting-diode (LED) parking lot lamp stands in front of an EPRI building in Knoxville. The lamps are being tested for longevity, performance, energy consumption, durability and cost. LEDs save about 25 percent of the energy used by equivalent conventional metal halide street lighting sources.
