Travel Like Bond, James Bond

Venice, Italy
For most first-time pilgrims to Italy, Rome is the usual port of entry offering all the paintings, piazzas and religious leaders one could hope to find. For Bond, the action was in Venice, with its romantic backdrop of gondolas and canals. It was in Moonraker that James Bond offered viewers a glimpse of his souped-up gondola, which converted into a speedboat at the flip of a switch. Things to see in between canal adventures: St. Mark's Square, the Accademia Gallery and the Island of the Lido (home of the Venetian Film Festival).
