When the Prince of Wales expressed the wish to become "Defender of Faith" rather than "Defender of the [Anglican] Faith" on his ascension to the throne, he attracted criticism from no less a figure than the Archbishop of Canterbury, but Charles continues to engage with a wide variety of faith groups. In 2000 he visited the Islamia school in London, founded by Yusuf Islam, once known as chart-topping pop star Cat Stevens, here standing to the left of the Prince.
