Battle Wood
Hill 60 was a low rise on the Ypres Salient captured by German forces on December 10, 1914. Much of the fighting to retake the hill took place underground, as the British placed 21 mines in tunnels and detonated them on April 17, 1915, demolishing part of the hill.
