Its creators hope that the Bloodhound SSC will be able to go from 0 to 1,000 in 20 seconds — the speed of a bullet shot from a Magnum revolver. In order to do this, a booster rocket will kick in at 350 mph, taking the car to such a high speed that it will experience pressure of 12 tons per square meter.
