Farewell to Yankee Stadium

Fans cheer for the Yanks in a game against the rival Boston Red Sox during the 2004 American League Championship Series. Yankee Stadium has played host to 37 World Series, far more than any other venue. Of those match-ups, the Yankees have won 26.

A few days after the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the Yankees resumed play in a highly emotional atmosphere. Fans and players paid their respects to the victims during a ceremony at the stadium before a game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
