Married with two children, Luoc, 42, walks with his wife Luan in a field near their home in northern Vietnam. He contracted HIV by sharing a needle (to inject vitamins, he says) with his AIDS-infected brother. Before that, he suffered from tuberculosis. He began ARV treatment in November, 2007.
