W. Gets A Bike
Photographers capture President George W. Bush joy-riding on a new mountain bike from Israeli Prime Minister Ehmud Olmert. Olmert presented the gift during Bush's visit to mark the country's 60th anniversary. The Israeli-made bike came with another high-tech gadget — a GPS device pre-set with cycling routes on the President's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Bikes have carried political clout since their invention in the late 1800s. In North Korea, for example, the government has banned bicycles from public use, arguing they offer too much mobility.
