Not choking, just cold
A woman bundles up against Beijing's winter chill. The city's air is improving: since 2000, emissions of sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and carbon monoxide have all dropped, while the number of days Beijing met national air quality standards have gone up from 177 to 243. But that rate is still well behind that of cities in Europe and North America.
