Suharto's Indonesia

A military convoy rolls through the streets of Dili, the capital of East Timor, a former Portuguese colony Indonesia occupied in 1975 with the tacit approval of the U.S. government. In 1991, Indonesian troops fired on Timorese protestors, killing 200. Media coverage of the shootings would prompt the international community to cool towards the occupation of East Timor and Suharto's regime.
