I am an only child. This fact about me has probably had more to do with who I am as a person than any other. As an only child, especially of divorced parents, I never really had a sense of immediate family, although I've always cherished the love of my many friends before, but I've never had a best friend, and I think emotional connections between two people are better than having several acquaintances, and I can't assert from experience but I've heard dozens of times that there is no bond stronger than that between siblings. I'm jealous of anyone with a brother or sister.
