I love the laneways in inner-city Melbourne. There is something very Melbourne about them, but they also make you feel that you've been transported to a back street in Europe. I took this in the middle of the day. I'd set up my tripod, intending just to capture the people streaming along the lane, when the man sat down right in front of me and started reading his book.
