Shyamalan's latest film The Last Airbender, a live-action adaptation of a Nickolodeon animated television series, is set to release on July 2nd. The movie has already been the subject of controversy and criticism over its casting of a predominantly caucasian cast to portray characters of Asian and Inuit descent. Set in a fictional universe where people possess the abilitiy to manipulate, or in the story's vernacular, bend the elements, the movie follows Aang (Noah Ringer), the sole survivor of an airbending warrior monk sect.
