Zombies not only overwhelmed his protaganists, they overwhelmed Romero's career. Although he would make other films such as the 1988 Monkey Shines, about a killer helper monkey, and Knightriders, a 1981 movie about modern-day motorcycle riding jousters, Romero has been primarily known for his movies about the undead.
