Lightning Rod
While working in the White House, Rove came under investigation for his possible involvement in the outing of undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame and the dismissal of several U.S. attorneys. Rove was not charged in either case. In the summer of 2007, Rove resigned from the Bush administration to spend more time with his family. He had contemplated resignation in the previous year, but decided to stay on to help with the 2006 mid-term elections.
