The next year, Ford returned to the Tom Clancy franchise (he had previously played the role of Jack Ryan in Patriot Games) with Clear and Present Danger. In both films he plays a whip-smart CIA analyst sent around the world, this time into the middle of a deadly conflict with a Colombian drug cartel. The same year, the National Association of Theater Owners recognized Ford's amazing draw at the box office and named him their Star of the Century.
