This Is It
Born in Chicago, Ford was an indifferent student who was bullied regularly. But when he took a drama class to fulfill a requirement, he found his calling. "I was terrified to get up in front of people, but I really enjoyed the storytelling part. It was the first time I felt comfortable with what I was doing." He dropped out of college and drove to Hollywood to pursue the dream. He first appeared in Dead Heat on a Merry-Go Round in 1966 alongside Camilla Sparv.
