Reitman's big break came in 2006 with Thank You For Smoking, based on Christopher Buckley's political satire novel of the same name. In this dark comedy, Aaron Eckhart plays a tobacco lobbyist who prides himself on being one of "the few people on this planet who know what it is to be truly despised." The film ultimately argues for taking personal responsibility for stopping smoking.
