In 2008, Paul ran for President again, this time on the Republican ticket. Although this race too was to end in defeat, Paul made impressive waves. He had the most "friends" of any Republican candidate on MySpace and his YouTube videos were second in popularity only to Barack Obama. By raising $6 million, he also set the record for single-day online fundraising.
