Alan Mulally: A Life in Business

The Debacle
Not all of Mulally's public appearances have been positive. In December of 2008, he, along with executives of other car manufacturers, were criticized for using corporate jets to attend Senate hearings in Washington, DC. Because of the criticism, Mulally drove from Detroit to Washington in a Ford hybrid vehicle and sold all but one of Ford's jets.
