After the breakup, Van Morrison moved to the United States, where he recorded Astral Weeks and Moondance, both of which are regarded as rock landmarks. Astral Weeks reflected Morrison's interest in jazz, while the follow-up Moondance showcased his remarkable voice and Gaelic roots.
