Tom Wolfe's Life and Career
Todd Selby / Corbis Outline
Celebrated Novelist
Tom Wolfe is the author of over a dozen books. He was one of the very first practitioners of a style of writing subsequently dubbed new journalism that used fictional techniques to tell a factual story. This fall marks the 40th anniversary of one of the seminal works of the genre, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, an account of the LSD-laced adventures of author Ken Kesey and his Merry Pranksters.
