Looking for icebreakers in President Clinton's National Conversation on Race, John Hope Franklin — head of Clinton's race advisory board — will chair a weekend meeting with psychologists from the American Psychological Association to discuss racial attitudes.

Franklin is not seeking input on whether the President should issue an apology for slavery — a matter that Clinton asked the advisory board to examine — but said he is open to suggestion.
