CIA OFFICIALS INVESTIGATING THE SHOOTING SPREE THAT left two dead and three wounded outside the agency’s entrance gate two weeks ago doubt that the still unidentified killer was a present or former CIA employee. For one thing, the attacker did not attempt to go inside. In most cases, embittered ex-employees who go on shooting sprees enter the workplace to attack their former colleagues. And at CIA headquarters, anyone can carry a gun into the complex. Just as at other government agencies, there are no metal detectors at the entrances.
