His state party chairman, Paul Goldman, is eagerly mapping out 1992 scenarios, and Wilder's travel plans suggest far more than a mere vice-presidential bid. He has visited California twice in the past two weeks, and is poised to announce a foray into New Hampshire this spring. Can Iowa be far behind?
