Only two of these 14 pieces have not already appeared somewhere in Peter Taylor's six previous collections of short stories. But this is, essentially, a new book. Much of Taylor's earlier work is now difficult or impossible to buy; small printings were snapped up by his band of devoted readers and were not, as a rule, reissued.
