Want to see a dirty joke? Well, there is a young widow (Catherine Spaak) who finds out that her late husband was a real swinger. He left her his private flat designed for orgies, complete with floor mirrors, and an elaborate camera setup for making movies of all the fun. Copy of Krafft-Ebing in hand, the wide-eyed widow goes through all the paces, developing a real yen for the "Aristotelian perversion." Only a strong, sober and steadfast physician (Jean-Louis Trintignant) is able to set her straight. But—surprise—he digs Aristotle too. That isn't much of a punch line, but then, The Libertine...
