In campaigning for the post of Canada's Prime Minister, Pierre Elliott Trudeau urged Canadians: "Let's take a bit of a chance." He offered the voters "a great adventure of discovery" and insisted that "the important thing is that Canadians are beginning to realize for the first time that this country is a fabulous place."
