Of all U.S. radio families who were at home Tuesday night, 92.4% heard the President’s message (see p. 9). C.E. Hooper, Inc., a firm that telephones a cross section of city people during broadcasts, gave this estimate last week. Hooper estimated further that 90,000,000 people heard the message. Hooper “rating”: 79%. Best previous Hoopercent for any broadcast: 70% for the President’s declaration of an unlimited national emergency last May.
