¶ In Los Angeles, last week, three kidnappers were given ten-years-to-life in prison for abducting a man, his wife and their Japanese servant. Maximum penalty was recommended by the Court.
¶ In Warren, Ohio, the first of two men to be tried for kidnapping James Dejute Jr., 12, son of a Niles contractor (TIME, March 14), received the maximum punishment of life imprisonment. The trial took but four hours. A few days later, the other man was given from one to 20 years for harboring the kidnapped boy.
