Manhattan's McCann-Erickson had total billings of $106 million in 1953, according to Advertising Age, making it the fourth U.S. ad agency to top $100 million. J. Walter Thompson hit the $100 million mark in 1947, was joined by Young & Rubicam and Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn in 1951.
