Nation: Fast-Talking Oneself

Though re-elected Governor of California, Ronald Reagan is unhappy. His 1966 plurality was twice the size of this year's. His managers had him so busy working for other Republicans, he feels, that the Reagan record received insufficient emphasis. His TV technique is excellent, but he did not have enough tube time. "When I got on," Reagan is telling friends, "I had to talk so fast that I could hardly understand myself."
