¶Cornell's track team, the I.C. 4-A championship, for the first time since 1936; at Philadelphia. Individual standouts: Cornell's Meredith Gourdine, who doubled in the broad jump (a record 25 ft. 9¾ in.) and the 220-yd. low hurdles; and Seton Hall's Andy Stanfield, who led his team, to third place with a brilliant double (100-and 220-yd. dash) and a second place in the broad jump, ¾ in. behind Gourdine.
