But in 20 years of clerking at the American Embassy in Berlin, Herbert Burgman had acquired a German education, a German wife, a son—and an unbounded admiration for Adolf Hitler. He went to work for the Nazis, spouted radio propaganda at the U.S. on the program called "station D-E-B-U-N-K." He blamed Franklin D.
