Word by word Canada is asserting her atomic independence. Last week Reconstruction Minister Clarence D. Howe told the House of Commons that no one in Canada knows how the U.S. makes atomic bombs. And he did not think Canada would be given the information if she asked for it unless it was thought Canada really needed it. . . . But, he butted: “I have no doubt that, having the . . . explosive material which we make in Canada, our ordnance people could make a bomb of their own. I doubt very much whether they will do it, but that will be up to the military forces.”
