Radio: Ads Subtracted

Last week radio took thought and added a cubit to its stature:

¶ WJZ (New York) decided to play no more five-minute recorded commercial "shows" between 8:30 a.m. and midnight.

¶ WTMJ (Milwaukee) joined to growing list of stations banning commercials that break into 15-minute news broadcasts.

¶ WWJ (Detroit) put into effect its total ban on all recorded commercial announcements.
