Whatever else U.S. citizens may be doing with the zooming national income, they are socking away in life insurance more than they have in years. The Association of Life Insurance Presidents reported last week that new insurance written in August added up to $651,543,000, 21.8% above last year. The eight-months' 1943 figure was a whopping $5.5 billion v. $5.3 billion in 1942.
