Haffkine) and the man who discovered the cure for sleeping sickness (Sir David Bruce) are neither of them now employed by Great Britain. Also, Walter Reed, the American who discovered that yellow fever is carried by mosquitoes, died without knowing how his wife and children would be provided for.
