Not since 1912 had the Kansas City Star’s Publisher Roy Roberts missed a Democratic Convention. But last week Roberts announced that not only was his spirit unwilling to return to Philadelphia this month, but his 265 lbs. of flesh were too weak. The Republican Convention (where he did some politicking as well as reporting) had done him in. Said Roberts: “I just couldn’t stand it again so soon.”
