Sport: God's Mile II

Until last week the praying divinity student, Gilbert Dodds, looked like a good miler. Last week he looked like a great one. In the Chicago Relays he pounded out a blistering 4:06.4, smashing his own week-old world indoor record (TIME, March 20). This led to predictions of even faster times this summer. Outdoors, Dodds may yet approach Arne Andersson's world mark of 4:02.6.
