The wartime patter of little feet made itself heard in Washington. Because the U.S. birth rate is up about 25% over prewar levels, the War Production Board has authorized:

> A 60,000 increase in baby carriage production, making 900,000 available this year.

> An 80,000 increase in strollers and walkers.

> Limited production of baby scales, to be sold on prescription.

> Enough rubber for nipples.

> 8,000,000 dozen diapers.
