Medicine: The Mentally Unfit

U.S. citizens last week got some shocking statistics about themselves. Roughly 12% of all those examined by the armed services were mentally unfit (most of them are not crazy, but just too neurotic, inept, stupid, or illiterate for the Army or Navy). Rejected at pre-induction physicals: 1,750,000. Discharged: 524,000. Total number mentally unfit for the armed forces: 2,300,000.
