Religion: For Dachau

In Munich last week burly Michael Cardinal von Faulhaber, 76, longtime anti-Nazi who ones narrowly escaped being sent to Dachau, asked General Eisenhower for permission to build a convent on the site of that most dreaded of Nazi concentration camps. His vision: to make the scene of 20th-century mass martyrdom a place of pilgrimage for people of all faiths.
