For $197.20, a Manhattan department store (B. Altman & Co.) last week offered its customers a sizable musical anthology. The store wrapped up 42 record albums in one package "for pleasing the typical family." Some blossoms in the fat bouquet:

¶ Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, Pathetique. Symphony, Piano Concerto No. 1; Brahms's Piano Concerto No.. 2 in B Flat; Cesar Franck's lone symphony (no Bach, no Mozart).

¶ The William Tell Overture; George Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F; Strauss's waltzes.

¶ The scores of Broadway's Oklahoma!, On the Town, Up in Central Park and Song...
