Franklin Roosevelt will inherit from his mother more than half a million dollars. Last week a State transfer appraisal of the estate of the late Mrs. Sara Delano Roosevelt was filed. Net: $1,089,872. Deductions for taxes: State, $48,431; Federal,* some $275,000. Other bequests left a balance for the President of approximately $635,000.
* Signed by the President only 3 days after his mother’s death was the new tax bill, which, if it had applied, would have raised the Federal in heritance levy by some $84,000.
