When their plane became disabled at 6,000 ft., two Army flyers bound for Washington from Dayton scorned their parachutes, pushed their wobbling ship along 100 mi. in near-stalling position. With two brace wires broken and the right elevator surface dropping at a 20-degree angle, they made a precarious but successful landing at Boiling Field.
