Long before Marine Lieut. Anthony Turtora’s last letter arrived at his home in The Bronx, word came that he had been shot down in a plane over Guadalcanal. So to Tony Turtora’s parents the postscript of his letter seemed an eloquent postscript to his life:

Always pray, not that I shall come back, but that I will have the courage to do my duty.
